China pencil on paper

50 x 19 in

This piece features a horizontal composition of me and my two sisters, drawn from a cherished photograph. The extended format highlights the equal presence of each of us, side by side, symbolizing the unity and connection we share.

Using black china pencil, I employed a style reminiscent of stained glass, with rigid lines and hashed details that give the work texture and depth. The black and white palette accentuates the contrast between light and shadow, adding a timeless quality and allowing the viewer to focus on the intricate lines and the emotional resonance throughout the piece.
